MISSION STATEMENT

Bringing the healing message of the Gospel to broken people.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal Persons:

  • GOD, the Creator, Sustainer of life, all powerful, merciful, all loving, just, righteous, and Ruler of the universe.
  • JESUS CHRIST, the Son of God, born of a virgin, fully human and fully divine, took our sins upon Himself, died on the cross for our salvation, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and will return again to set up His kingdom.
  • HOLY SPIRIT, the Giver of gifts, Guide, Counselor, gives us power and strength to live the Christian life, Helper, and Comforter.

WE BELIEVE the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is to be studied, remembered, and applied. It tells us of the story of God’s Covenant with His people, and the Good News of hope present in the Gospel.

WE BELIEVE that water Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward change. Upon belief that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, we follow His example in baptism by immersion.

WE BELIEVE that the Lord’s Supper is open to all who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. When we partake of the bread and the cup, we remember Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for our sin. It is a time of self- examination, reflection and rededication.

WE BELIEVE that, by nature, all humans are sinful and are in need of salvation and forgiveness. Failure to accept Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf means that we will suffer eternal death and punishment.

WE BELIEVE that, as believers, we should boldly extend an invitation to others to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to encourage them to grow as wholehearted, fully-committed disciples. We issue an altar call as a part of our worship to invite others to receive Jesus.

WE BELIEVE that the purpose of the Church of Jesus Christ is to reach out to those who have not accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, to teach others to become disciples, and to care for one another and God’s world.

WE BELIEVE that all believers have been endowed with spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit in order to build up the Body of Christ. All believers are empowered to give witness to God’s saving grace in the Gospel, and to serve the world around us. All believers are called to pray, to worship, to evangelize, and to study scripture. All believers are called to love and to support one another.
